A New GOP...

I daresay there is definitely a need for a Republican face lift, and try as they might, Sarah Palin is not going to be enough. There are many reasons why I am not a Republican, and there are many reasons why I am considering calling myself an Independent. Many elections have been a choice between lesser evils. I don't feel that this year, but I have in the past. Both parties need to look at what they do and why they do it. I scanned the crowd last night and it was no big surprise- lots of white males in business attire accompanied by their well-heeled women. A few minority sprinkles here and there- very few. When I think of Republicans, I think of people who are only looking out for themselves, usually well-connected financially and politically. As far as they are concerned, it's all about making more money for the family coffers, and the rest of the world be damned. If you don't like how they do business, they'll just send our military out after you. Making life better for everyone is not on their radar. It's every MAN for himself. Bring your wife along, especially if she has her own money. The rest of the world be damned. My blog, my opinions.

Check out this article on the Republican party.

Let me know what you think.

A "few minority sprinkles" on a big, fat, white-frosted cupcake! "Let them eat cake"...I think not. (love your blog!)

Where can I vent about the teenage pregnancy...where...where?

I listened very closely to Palin last night. I was "trying" to like her. Really. When her family presented on stage, I thought about how her poor "chubby" daughter is going to get ridiculed for her weight problem in the press - they are so vicious.

Then on the world news this morning, they were talking about her teen pregnancy! ARE YOU KIDDING ME???!

Oh no. Oh, no no, no. I hold NO moral high ground over anyone. HOWEVER, if you cannot even govern over your own home - how in the world are you going to participate in raising up our Nation?

Here is where my big fat mouth is going to get me into trouble - and I vowed to never do this again on a blog, but this time I don't care because the teen pregnancy issue has gotten way too out of hand in America.

Think about it. Our Leaders are supposed to be educating our youth and preventing teen pregnancy. How can you be a National role model for our Country with a knocked up kid at home?

Of course all people make mistakes! But what her situation says to me is that Palin had an "unsupervised teenager" running around screwing some boy on her watch!

Are you supposed to be able to trust your 16 or 17 year old kid? NO! They have poor impulse control and lack maturity. They aren't even smart enough to know they sell freakin condoms in every Walmart! Come on!

It's no big secret either that if you are going to be a promiscuous teen, you can get a Depo shot that last for three months at a time.

Palin dropped the ball big time. Her child has "screwed" up her life! No 17 year old teen needs to bring a human being into this world!

It's not like getting a new puppy. It a real person - not a just "baby" - but a human person.

Sarah Palin is not an option for solid leadership in my book now. Not a role model. Not a person to look to as a great example of how to have a happy, productive family.

While she's off Governing Alaska, fishing in the Pacific...and her husband is off champion racing his snow-mobiles...they did not supervise their own daughter..and she has now made a terrible, life changing mistake.

I feel very sorry for the poor kid. But even more so, I feel sorry for the "person" she is bringing into this world who might never have a father (blah-blah)...AND grow up under media scrutiny as a bastard child. What a way to go, Palin Family. You don't get my vote.

1 in 3 teens get pregnant in this Nation. That's an inexcusable rato. Perhaps if parents spent more time doing their jobs in the home, which includes knowing where their kids are, there would be a whole lot less crime, sexually transmitted diseases, unwanted pregnancies, drunk driving fatalities, and the list goes on.

Be a good parent. Protect your kids!

One more thing: How come they are not SLAMMING Palin like they did the Jamie Lynn Spears Mom for being an irresponsible excuse of a parent and not being around while her daughter got knocked up???

Just wondering!

Partner To Grow- thanks for visiting. These next few weeks are going to get curioser and curioser. LOL. And I'll be here commenting.

Hola Laurel! Thanks for your thoughts. I think what I am most amazed at is how all of a sudden the conservative right-wingers are ok with this pregnant teen because she chose to keep her baby. So did Jamie Lyn, as you pointed out, and Murphy Brown, and countless other women real and fictional that were raked over the coals. The double standard is screaming at me and making me nuts.

Who am I to judge? I don't care what anyone else does - keep or not keep a baby out of wedlock. But her daughter is just a young girl of 17 - and Pallin is in office. I expect better!

A friend of mine is writing a book called "A Life Lived Backwards" - about just that. The Pregnant so young, cart before the horse syndrome that has plagued so many women.

What I am so sick of is the leadership of our Nation taking things so lightly!

Today it's just not good enough for a teenager to say to parents "bye, y'all...I'm going 'off' with friends". They have to be supervised.

Pallin said: "I had the privilege of living most of my life in a small town. I was just your average hockey mom, and signed up for the PTA because I wanted to make my kids’ public education better."

Did she forget to educate her kids about safe sex? Forgot that one - or too busy with other things?

She also sarcastically said: "I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a ‘community organizer,’ except that you have actual responsibilities."

Well, I'm just a wife, mother, business woman...regular person...who thinks you ought not be casting stones when YOU have neglected your responsibilities to your Family.

Hey - stuff happens and teenagers are sneaky! But the first and foremost community you need to organize when you are in the political limelight...is your own home behind closed doors...THEN take it to the people.

I think I am just disappointed. Is there no one out there who can lead us with some semblance of true integrity?

It has nothing to do with "faith" or religion, either. I simply expect those highest in command of the Free World to lead by example.

How can our VP be be trying to fix our ails, when a member of her family just added to a huge problem in our Nation - teen pregnancy?

What's gonna happen when she doesn't have time to manage something else correctly...saying "oops" just ain't gonna cut it in the critical times we live in!

I'm done now. Soapbox gone. Whew! Thanks for letting me vent.
